Approach to Therapy
My approach to the helping relationship is rooted in the belief that healing happens through connection, presence, and embodied awareness. Whether we are engaging in therapeutic movement or somatic psychotherapy, the foundation of our work together begins with attachment and safety. I strive to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to explore your inner world at a pace that honors your nervous system. From this foundation, we begin to understand not only what you think and feel, but also how your body responds, communicates, and holds your lived experiences.
At the heart of my work is the practice of self-awareness, the ability to notice your thoughts, emotions, and body sensations with curiosity rather than judgment. This awareness becomes the doorway into meaningful and lasting change. As you deepen your attunement to yourself, we also build skills in self-regulation, helping you manage stress, navigate triggers, and cultivate a sense of internal steadiness. Alongside this, you experience co-regulation: the way two nervous systems support, soothe, and influence each other. In our sessions, I offer calm, grounding presence so you can experience safety in connection and practice resourcing yourself through relationship, not in isolation.
Because the mind and body are inseparable, movement plays a central role in how I work. In both therapeutic movement and somatic therapy, we lean into the principle of movement as medicine. Gentle strengthening, breathwork, grounding, stretching, or simply noticing how your body wants to move can shift emotional patterns, release stored tension, and restore a sense of vitality. We use the language of polyvagal theory to understand your nervous system states, helping you recognize when your body is in protection and when it's available for connection. As you learn to navigate these states with more clarity, strength, and compassion, your capacity for resilience expands.
My approach is also deeply informed by neuroplasticity and concepts from quantum physics—the understanding that humans are dynamic and ever-changing, influenced by both internal patterns and relational energetic fields. You are not fixed. You are capable of growing new pathways, creating new responses, and living in alignment with your deepest values. We work together to identify those values and anchor your choices, habits, and daily actions to what matters most to you. This alignment helps you live not from old survival strategies but from a place of intention and authenticity.
While our work can be deep, meaningful, and emotionally rich, it can also be warm, human, and infused with humor. Laughter, playfulness, and levity are powerful regulators of the nervous system and essential reminders that healing does not have to be heavy. When appropriate, humor becomes a tool for connection, grounding, and shifting perspective.
Ultimately, my approach is relational, embodied, and integrative. It honors your whole self, mind, body, and nervous system and supports you in building strength that is emotional, physical, and spiritual. Whether we are talking, moving, breathing, or learning together, our work is centered around one goal: helping you feel more connected to yourself, more empowered in your life, and more aligned with who you are becoming.
